FIM E-BIKE GRAND PRIX OF SARDINIA
BAUNEI – 27/28 JUNE
Andrea Lucchini claims victory at the GP of Sardinia to win Round 2 of the FIM E-Bike Enduro World Cup🔥
Baunei (Italy) – Five demanding and highly technical special tests set the stage for the GP of Sardinia, Round 2 of the FIM E-Bike Enduro World Cup, held on the spectacular trails of Baunei.
Andrea Lucchini (Mondraker – MC Versilia Corse) claimed the overall victory after delivering a flawless performance. The Italian laid the foundations for his success during the opening lap, winning the first three special tests and building enough of a gap to withstand the late charge of Manolo Morettini (Polini), who posted the fastest times in the final two tests of the day.
The Locorbu special test (2.1 km) challenged riders with its technical terrain, demanding precise bike handling and excellent traction control. Scoine (1.33 km), ridden twice—once in the morning and again in the afternoon—offered a short but intense challenge, while Surrele (2.56 km) brought the race to a close with a balanced mix of technical sections and flowing trails.
Behind Lucchini, Filippo Colarusso (Olimpia – MC Torre della Meloria) secured second place, finishing 24.14 seconds adrift, while Morettini completed the overall podium thanks to a strong comeback during the second lap.
Lucchini’s overall win also earned him victory in the E1 class ahead of Filippo Colarusso and Eric Anselmo (Thok – MC La Guardia). After two rounds, Colarusso leads the championship standings with 45 points, followed by Anselmo on 36 and Christian Buniva on 29.
In E1J, Christian Buniva (Thok – MC La Guardia) took a convincing victory ahead of local rider Daniel Pessiu(Canyon), winning by several minutes to maintain his perfect championship record. Buniva now leads the standings, while Pessiu and Nicola Ferraresi share second place on 20 points.
The E2 class saw Manolo Morettini take victory ahead of Andrea Sassoli (E-Expert Fast Team) and Alessandro Nobile(Mondraker Crafty RRS – Ponte dell’Olio). The result moves Morettini to the top of the championship standings, with Sassoli five points behind and Nobile third on 16 points.
The battle for victory in E3 came down to Marco Gnassi (T-Talaria – Gaerne) and Filippo Baldoni (T-Talaria – Versilia Corse). A crash during free practice affected Baldoni’s race, although he managed to limit the damage and remain firmly in title contention.
Gnassi secured the class win ahead of Baldoni and Gaylard Soldevila (Arctic Leopard). The championship battle remains wide open heading into the season finale, with Gnassi and Baldoni tied at the top of the standings on 45 points, while Soldevila and Paolo Sottosanti share third place on 29 points.
Stefano Monni, Mayor of Baunei, said: “This has been a very positive weekend for Baunei. Hosting a round of the FIM E-Bike Enduro World Cup for the first time is an important milestone for both our community and the wider region. The event reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable and active tourism while showcasing the unique combination of mountains and coastline that makes Baunei so special. I would like to thank the organisers, the volunteers, our institutional partners and everyone who contributed to the success of the event and ensured it was delivered safely.”
Gianluca Avenoso, Coordinator of the Italian Motorcycling Federation (FMI) E-Bike Committee and Bureau Member of the FIM E-Bike Commission, said: “Since launching the E-Bike project in 2020, our goal has been to combine top-level competition with the promotion of the host territory. Baunei perfectly reflects this vision, offering technical and challenging special tests in an outstanding natural setting. I would like to thank the local authorities, our partners, the promoter and the organising club for making this event possible.”
Andrea Lucchini, winner of the GP of Sardinia, said: “I’m very happy with the victory and with setting the fastest time on all five special tests. It was a demanding race, with technical and enjoyable stages in a truly spectacular location. Sardinia offers outstanding trails for both mountain bikes and e-bikes, with routes that combine challenging terrain and breathtaking views overlooking the sea.”

Following the Baunei round, the FIM E-Bike Enduro World Cup now heads to its season finale in Cervinia, where the final two rounds will take place on 11–12 July. With several championship battles still undecided, the 2026 titles will be settled in the Italian Alps.
